Carmo Chameleon

Puttin' in the mix.

527 Julia St.
New Orleans

You switched from mayo to veganese and haven't tasted milk that comes from a cow in six months.

For the queen of healthy substitutions comes the new cocktail bar within the gallery space at L'Entrepot's Carmo. The recent addition of a beautiful 10 seater bar, made of reclaimed wood and elegantly topped with copper, has called for the introduction of a growing list of libations laced with far-from-average mixers. Cashew fruit, fresh pressed sugar cane and cocoa (yes from the cocoa bean, no on the cocoa flavor) juice are just a few of the exotic superfruits and unexpected twists added to each boozy bev. Ask for the Barbados cherry to pair with your vodka - the juice is around 40 percent higher in Vitamin C than OJ, forever putting your screwdriver order to shame.

Because high fructose is so lowbrow.

Hit L'Entrepot during the High Summer Social THIS Saturday Sept 7, 6 - 9 p.m. The gallery will feature fashion illustrations by Markette, music by Saint Rock, fibers by Liz Robb and paintings by Joseph Konert and Lisa Iacono. To play up the five talents, the bar will be serving up a signature punch called The Five along with light bites, all to the tune of live music.
