Sip & Savor

May 23rd, 2018

Now Open :: Rosewood

Divine Eastside restaurant Rosewood officially opens its doors for service tomorrow.

1209 Rosewood Ave.

These days you expect a bartender who not only knows your name, but whether you want Topo or tonic and what version iPhone you have so you can borrow a charger.

You never forget the extra touches. Hotly-anticipated Rosewood opens tomorrow—if you can get a spot, at the custom oak dining tables you'll find a personal drawer stocked with extra silverware, menus and, get this, reading glasses so you can properly take in the menu of South Texas-inspired cuisine. An old-fashioned loop fence and brick pathway lead to the Queen Anne Victorian home, where charming original touches remain like antique keyhole covers repurposed as bar taps, ornate chandeliers and stunning stained glass windows. Gulf Coast menu items include preserved egg and bone marrow and whey-braised lamb with ricotta dumplings. Head to the expansive lawn to indulge on picture-perfect desserts like lemongrass-lime bars with elderflower meringue and bottles of local Dandy Rosé. And do peek into the powder rooms, outfitted with flamingo and floral wallpaper
The little things go a long way.
